There is good news and bad news for WCAU's Tiffany McElroy.  The good news is that McElroy, 32, is engaged to former WCAU meteorologist John Bolaris, 45, as McElroy showed off her engagement ring on Tuesday's edition of the morning magazine show "10."  The bad news is that according to a newsroom source at WCAU, McElroy has been informed by WCAU management that she is being pulled off "10," and is free to leave the station when she gets another job.

McElroy was brought in from Portland, Oregon to co-anchor the weekday early morning news with Steve Levy and co-host "10" with Levy and Bill Henley in the spring of 2002 after Sharon Reed left the station in a cloud of controversy over an internet feud with WCAU reporter Alicia Taylor.

However Tiffany evidently lost her shine with management and was taken off the early morning news in December of 2002.  Her relationship with Bolaris, which began this spring probably didn't endear her to management, as WCAU lost the ratings-luster of Bolaris, who left the station for WCBS in New York City in November, but continued to get Bolaris' tabloid antics through his relationship with McElroy.

This would be the first marriage for McElroy and the second for Bolaris, who was also linked with former WCAU anchor Jane Robelot and Philadelphia singer Lauren Hart.

According to a source in the newsroom, WCAU doesn't want a "news" person to co-host "10," which is headed in more of an entertainment direction since it changed producers this month, and will probably search for a personality from outside the station to co-host the show.
