It will be a family affair when NBC-10 anchor Renee Chenault and
U.S. Congressman Chaka Fattah get married April 7, as the wedding party
will primarily be made up of the bride and groom’s children.
Fattah’s grown children from his first marriage, Frances, 25,
and Chip, 18, will be maid of honor and best man respectively, and
Chenault’s daughter, Cameron, 2, will be the flower girl; assisted by
former Channel 10 sports anchor Ron Burke’s daughters Spencer and
Madison. Burke, and his wife Gloria were Cameron’s caregivers before
Chenault’s parents moved to East Falls over the summer where Chenault
and Fattah reside. Cameron
was born in September 1998 after being conceived through artificial
insemination. Around 250
people are expected to attend the ceremony that will take place at Mt.
Carmel Baptist Church in Philadelphia.
This is the second marriage for both Chenault, 43, and Fattah,
44, who began dating in January 1999 and were engaged Valentine’s Day
of 2000. They met while
Chenault was covering the Democratic National Convention for Channel 10
in New York City in 1992.
In other NBC-10 news, weekend anchor and Bucks County resident,
Lisa Mishler is expecting her first child in May.
Mishler, a graduate of Pennsbury High School and Boston
University, joined her hometown station in March of 1999 after stops in
Lancaster, PA, Orlando, FL, and Boston, MA. And weekday morning anchor
Monique Braxton is expecting her first child in April. Braxton’s
husband, John Fordham, is an aide to John Street.
More
news is good news for NBC-10, as a 10 A.M. newscast debuts Monday,
January 22 with Steve Levy, Monique Braxton, and Bill Henley.
The syndicated “House Calls” goes off the air, and Cybill
Shepherd’s struggling “Men are from Mars, Women are From Venus”
moves to 11 A.M.
Newsroom insiders say Fox-Philadelphia’s “Eagles Game Day
Live” reporter Sarah Caldwell is being mentioned for the weekend
weather anchor position vacated by Rob Guarino who is now the weekday
weather anchor. Caldwell,
who began at Fox as an intern, also served as a traffic reporter.
Meanwhile, former Fox-Philadelphia weatherman Frank Cariello has
surfaced as a news anchor for KYW news radio.
Weather
watchers don’t have to wait for updates, as KYW is providing a 24-hour
weather line. The number is
215-238-4767.
And
Doylestown-born Marcus Errico should change the spelling of his name to
“E!rrico,” as the local product is the news director of the E! web
site, E! Online. Errico,
who grew up in Stockton, N.J., was part of the original editorial team
that launched the site in 1996.
Errico, who has a BA in English from Haverford college and an MA
in Print Journalism from USC, oversees the E! Online news bureaus in Los
Angeles and New York, and has appeared as an “entertainment expert”
on the Fox News Channel, Inside Edition, and more.
