For tomorrow's Eagles-Falcons game, there will be one Atlanta sportscaster who will be rooting for the Eagles - Broomall's John Kincade of Atlanta's sports radio station "The Fan" (WCNN 680-AM).

Kincade, 38, who moved to Atlanta eight years ago, co-hosts the afternoon drive slot from 3-7 p.m. with Buck Belue, the quarterback of the 1980 University of Georgia NCAA championship team.

The unabashed Eagles lover, who started an Eagles fan club in Atlanta said, "I've already booked a flight to Philadelphia for the NFC Championship Game."

WIP 610-AM listeners may remember Kincade as a frequent caller to the old "Morning Guys Show," as "Johnac the Magnificent." Former WIP host Tony Bruno (now on Fox Sports Radio), helped Kincade get on the air in Atlanta.

Kincade describes himself as a "cross between (brace yourself) Angelo Cataldi and Howard Eskin."

"I owe everything to both of those guys," he said. "Angelo gave me great exposure, and though many people bash Howard, he is one of the most generous people I know."

A graduate of Cardinal O'Hara High School and Temple University, Kincade will be broadcasting his show tomorrow afternoon from Philadelphia.

Eagles-palooza

KYW is airing a pep rally from City Hall at noon today.

Pat Ciarrocchi and Ukee Washington will anchor and be joined by their new "quarterback," Marc Howard, along with Beasley Reece, and Paul Deanno.

WTXF begins its coverage tonight with a playoff special at 10:30 p.m. "Game Day Live" airs tomorrow at 6:30, followed by the Fox NFL pre-game show at 7:30.

WCAU will air its second installment of "Unfinished Business" (no it's not the story of the WCAU morning news female anchors) at 7:30 tonight with Vai Sikahema, Larry Mendte, Howard Eskin, John Clark and Sheela Allen-Stephens.

Last week's show featured some of the Eagles players, including punter du jour Lee Johnson, who happens to be Vai's old friend from their Brigham Young University days.

Choose among three post-game shows: My favorite, Comcast SportsNet's "Post Game Live," WPVI's "Total Access with Gary Papa," and "The Eagles Post Game Report" on WTXF.

Broadcast team

Dick Stockton, Daryl Johnston and Ron Pitts will call the Eagles-Falcons game for Fox.

Surprisingly, the "A" team of Joe Buck, Troy Aikman and Cris Collinsworth will work the San Francisco-Tampa Bay game on Sunday. Because the Eagles are No. 1 seed, and with the marquee matchup of Michael Vick vs. Donovan McNabb, one would think the Eagles-Falcons would get the top announcing team.

Wild ratings

Ratings for last week's wild-card games were fabulous.

More than 50 million people saw part of the Giants-49ers game on Fox, which scored a 21.6/34 overnight rating/share. The Steelers-Browns game Sunday afternoon fared almost as well with a 20.2/39 rating/share.

Did anyone notice Phil Simms mention former Temple football head coach Bruce Arians, who is now the offensive coordinator for Cleveland?

Football fever is spreading to www.philadelphiaeagles.com. It scored an all-time high of 2.2 million visits in December.

Oversights

When WCAU's John Clark reported last week that Eagles Cecil Martin, Antonio Freeman and Freddie Mitchell were at the Temple-Wisconsin basketball game, he failed to mention that Martin went to the University of Wisconsin and that Freeman played in that state for many years as a member of the Green Bay Packers.

Guess that can happen when you are allotted two minutes for a sportscast.
